Our workshop session provides delegates with the knowledge to successfully produce accurate outputs, and gives those new to the industry an opportunity to try the Pix4D software package before making a commitment.

Steve Welland is an ex-forces instructor, CAA PfCO pilot and our UAV training manager. Steve has over 25 years of mechanical engineering and RC (Remote Control) flight experience, and is a fully qualified thermographer.
Ray Faulkner – founder of iRed Ltd – is an ex-airline jet captain with over 15 years of commercial flying experience. In addition to this, he is a CAA PfCO pilot and PCN Category 3 qualified. Ray currently sits on the BINDT CM working group, and is a committee member with BSI for ISO Standards involving thermography.
The Pix4D software workshop is for new and existing UAV pilots wishing to either establish or develop their understanding and ability with the Pix4D software series. Delegates attending the workshop can expect to be able to effortlessly create:
3D Textured Models
Full 3D triangular mesh with photorealistic texturing, perfect for sharing and online visualization.
Generate contour lines for a simplified representation of topography, then export them for further work.
Output calculated volumes on a perfect representation of your stockpile, with adjustable base height and detailed view for more precise measurements.
High resolution aerial map with corrected perspective, putting you in control of geographic data generation.
Digital Surface Model
Accurate, georeference elevation map, ready for your preferred GIS workflow.
3D Point Cloud
Laser scanner quality 3D points from a consumer-grade camera. Clean from moving objects, aerial perspective with limited occlusions, and low acquisition time.
Delegates already in possession of Pix4D software are welcome to bring a laptop or alternative with them. Otherwise, practical sessions will be completed using our purpose-built desktop.
Our workshop sessions are delivered in our purpose-built training facility in Emsworth, Hampshire (just outside of Portsmouth). The sessions, delivered by industry experts, usually run from 10am – 4pm including lunch and refreshments.
