Thermal Imaging cameras can be used to conduct aerial surveys of buildings, industrial plants, chimneys, heat vents, flare stacks and solar panels. These cameras on drones also have a vital part to play in search and rescue, where they can be used to find missing persons.

There are many different cameras available on the market and they all have different features. However, not all camera models are suitable for certain applications. This session for Drone Payloads will help you to understand which sensors are most suitable for your requirements and budget. This will enable you to make an informed choice on purchasing or hiring the suitable equipment.

Every sensor requires setting up correctly, according to the application at hand. This course will touch on the basics of camera operation, and will explain that thermal imaging cameras are not ‘plug-and-play’.

There will be a range of cameras to view and trial during the session.

This course requires no previous drone or thermography experience.

Those attending the course are not required to own a drone or any remote sensors. All equipment for training will be provided for the duration of the course.

The free Introduction to Drone Payloads session provides delegates with:

  • An understanding of the science behind infrared thermal imaging
  • An understanding of the different types of remote sensors and aerial platforms
  • An understanding of how sensors can be used in different applications
  • A framework for developing your skills
  • An insight in to the latest and best drone technologies
