The Equine Thermography Category 1 course delivers the fundamental knowledge required for undertaking basic infrared (thermal imaging) equine scans. Equine Thermography is an invaluable tool for detecting problem areas (caused by inflammation or neurological injury), assessing training performance and monitoring injury.

Elaine Hall Dipl ICAT, MAAT, AFHEA is a certified thermographer and equine specialist. Elaine has trained globally with some of the world’s leading veterinary thermographers including Dr Tracy Turner, Prof. Ram Purohit, Dr Jim Waldsmith and Dr Ken Marcella; and is an active member of the UKTA, Veterinary Thermal Imaging Society, American Academy of Thermology (AAT) and International Equine Thermography Association.
Conforming to industry standards, the Equine Thermography Category 1 course gives delegates a practical foundation in equine (animal) thermal imaging. Taught through a range of practical exercises and formative case studies, the Equine Thermography Category 1 is suited to those wishing to accurately capture equine thermal images and undertake basic reporting.
Delegates are issued with the Equine Thermography Category 1 qualification after successful completion of the course and the assessment criteria listed below.

*Formative scans are submitted after the course to the iRed Academy for general assessment and feedback. This gives delegates the opportunity to recieve additional feedback after the course, and allows instructors to monitor strengths, weaknesses and progress.
